Before you start

Dr. Stenberg should contact you before the rotation with dates who are scheduled to scan with him or other US attendings.

Requirements

• EMSono Modules - Practical Scanning, eFAST, Vascular Access, Aorta, First Trimester OB, Renal, and Soft Tissue

• Sim cases - Contact for Sim Center is Frank Fire. Print out results and put in EUS binder.

• Scan with Emergency Ultrasound Faculty. See EUS calendar

• Scan with echo tech in echo lab and interpret with the cardiologist

• Scan in the Fetal Evaluation Dept. located on the 2nd floor of the Main Hospital near the green elevators. Days and times will be emailed to you each week

• Scan in ED by yourself or with another resident

• Spend time in ED performing supervised ultrasound guided peripheral venous access; record a video clip on US machine of you performing a US-guided peripheral IV

• Scan in radiology with ultrasound tech and interpret with radiologist

• Complete ACEP Ultrasound Quizes - Physics, Procedural, Soft Tissue, Trauma, First Trimester Pregnancy, Urinary Tract and AAA. Print results and place in EUS binder

• Log and save scans done during clinical shifts in Q-path and submit for QA Review

• At end of ultrasound rotation, turn in EUS binder to Angie South
